Let's preface this section with a recommendation—the difference we saw between our Permanent Marker buds after a two-week cure and after six weeks was HUGE. If you've got the patience and time, go for a longer cure, you'll thank us later.
From the first draw, it's pretty easy to see why Permanent Marker has won all the major awards: the smoke itself is rich, heavy (but in the right way), and overly smooth. The flavor and fragrance profile are many-sided, complex, and continually shifting. The effects are instant, long-lasting, and also hard to pin down as they ebb and flow.
What does Permanent Marker taste like?
The first flavor to burst through is all citrus and mango, sweet and refreshing in equal measures. This is followed by that very recognizable earthy Kush taste, which is accompanied by hints of pine and mint with the Jealousy genetics coming through nicely.
There's also a deep creamy undertone throughout that not many other strains can offer. And the finish? Smoky and woody, so that's a lot of flavors going on at once. Perfect with an iced coffee in the morning or a peaty whisky later in the day.
Aroma-wise, things stay very much in line with the first taste. Fruity, piney, and earthy flavors all come together, loud as the day is long.

Not many, I'm guessing. Simply put, Permanent Marker is strong. But unlike a lot of strains that tout big THC numbers, what we really have here is an all-around balanced high. It's a creeper of the highest degree, so don't go putting your big boy pants on and smash multiple bowls in the first few minutes.
Because when Permanent Marker hits, and it inevitably will, it hits.
While the genetic split (70% Indica/30% Sativa) may have you expecting a heavier feeling, the Biscotti and Jealousy genetics come through in a big way. The high is very much "up" for the first 20 to 30 minutes. This is a rollercoaster of a strain, though, with the heavy sedative effects of the Sherb Bx1 taking over and keeping you well-grounded.
So, yes, it's a heavy hitter, but as long as you respect her and treat her right, the Permanent Marker experience is all good. Better than all good. Ridiculous, and well deserving of all the accolades.

Permanent Marker is about as resilient, robust, and easy to cultivate as a weed plant can be. No huge surprises her for us, just a quick look over her family tree shows that this is a strain with some serious growing pedigree.
We found her an absolute dream for both indoor and outdoor settings. To be fair, we did have great weather last season, and had just installed a brand-spanking-new LED system in the grow room.
There were no issues from start to finish. They handled being topped twice and heavily super-cropped and seemed to love it all.
